Getting ready for the holidays and some pictures

Hello everyone,
I hope you had a good week.
This week I picked out the last colors we need to paint upstairs. We already have a pink and purple room, a blue room and so we agreed we needed a gender neutral room. The colors I chose are two different shades of teal. We do have another bedroom upstairs to fix up but that is a whole other animal.
I'm excited about being in a full house with Aaron's family this week! Judith, my brother-in-law Joel's wife is coming up with their children Kaelyn, Janessa, and Austin from Pennsylvania. Then on Wednesday Joel and my sister-in-law Julie who also lives in Pennsylvania.

One thing I like about blogger is how easy it is to post pictures. So I took advantage. They aren't in any particular order but  here you go!

Normally the Youth Group we would have a service and a prayer time at the end.
Every fifth Sunday in Youth Group we would have a painting night. Each of us had our names on a part of the wall.

New Blog, First Post.

This is the journal of a woman yearning to serve her Father with all she has.

I'm a native Michigander in my mid-twenties. I've married to the love of my life, Aaron, for five years.

We live on our newly purchased farm-that consists of a 2 floor, 5 bedroom, 2 bathroom house, a few outbuildings and 26 acres- that we are cleaning and fixing up. We plan on gardening, planting an orchard and berry patch and putting in a hay field. We are so excited to be living this dream together.

I'm a stay-at-home wife who is anticipating on having children someday.  I thoroughly enjoy the blessing of being able to be a homemaker. I have learned a lot in these past five years, not only how to do things but finding out what works for us as a household. At first my focus was wrong and I was so overwhelmed. I had been habitually pessimistic for so long I paralyzed myself and spent many days in mediocrity and defeat. I am five years wiser. Most days I am in a state of crunchy-domestic-delight. Even when I don't 'feel' like it, I have this under current of peace knowing I am doing my job. "HOME-MAKER"-the word itself evokes such pleasure.

I enjoy researching and learning about alternative health. It gives me a huge appreciation for the creativity and thoughtfulness my Father put into His Creation.

After gaining back the 60 pounds I had lost- and then some- I am on a journey back to regaining my health. I have been doing this regularly for about two months and I am noticing exciting changes in my body. Though I am doing similar things to what I did when I was healthy I am shifting my focus a little bit. I don't just want to be 'skinny' I want to be strong. Something I noticed this year while helping my husband's family with hay for the first time is that I have good upper body strength for a woman, so I have added strength training to my routine. I am also making the dietary changes that I need. I'm doing this at a not so ideal time because of the holidays, but it as been surprisingly easy.

While I do care about my weight, the number on the scale is not that much of a huge deal as it was to me 6 years ago. I am focusing on endurance and strength and if I keep up with that I know my body will reach it's ideal weight. This feels so much better than exercising to punish myself. It's really nice to see results while enjoying the freedom of not being chained to the scale and the treadmill.

As I look back on 2015, I see a year of growth and maturing. I know I'm not invincible but I almost feel that way sometimes when I remember the dark place that I used to be in. Some of the lessons I had to learn the hard way but now I am in a deeper relationship with my Creator and He is revealing truths to me, helping me do things I never thought I'd be able to do, and giving me a peace of mind I never thought was attainable.

Thanks for stopping by! I plan on updating my blog on Sundays and I will probably have some mid-week posts as well. :)
